PRODUCT INFORMATION: SPARTIC-ALL™ RM

SPARTIC-ALL™ RM is a high solids, two component, premium quality, durable, clear coating for protecting interior concrete, polymer modified concrete overlays, stained concrete, and colored concrete floors.

1. DESCRIPTION and USES:

SPARTIC-ALL™ RM is engineered and formulated for sealing new, old, interior concrete and polymer modified concrete overlays where a clear, UV resistant protective finish is desired.

SPARTIC-ALL™ RM is an ultra quick cure, two component, premium, clear coating with little odor during or after application and low VOC.

SPARTIC-ALL™ RM protects and reduces staining from materials such as oil, grease, food spills, many chemicals, wear and UV by producing a low maintenance, abrasion resistant film.

SPARTIC-ALL™ RM is excellent for protecting interior concrete, concrete which has been coated with a broadcast vinyl flake system, broadcast colored quartz system, polymer modified concrete overlays or conventional concrete.

SPARTIC-ALL™ RM must be applied in even coats. When applying SPARTIC-ALL™ RM to surfaces with little or no texture, a slip resistant additive such as aluminum oxide, glass beads or silicon carbide chips may be needed to increase skid resistance.

2. LIMITATIONS:

SPARTIC-ALL™ RM must only be used on concrete overlays and concrete surfaces that is well drained and is not subject to hydrostatic pressure. Alkali stains may form at edges, cracks and expansion joints.

SPARTIC-ALL™ RM is not recommended for concrete subject to continuous water submersion. However, SPARTIC-ALL™ RM must be allowed to dry completely prior to being exposed to water.

By nature, polyaspartic ester coatings do not exhibit good self leveling properties or capabilities. Therefore, achieving flawlessly smooth, glass finish type applications is often times difficult on perfectly flat and un- textured surfaces such as power troweled garage and warehouse floors. With that said, when applied to a mild textured surface such as various decorative overlays, color quartz floors or even vinyl flake floors SPARTIC-ALL™ RM is ideal.

3. CHEMICAL COMPOSITION:

SPARTIC-ALL™ RM is a high solid, polyaspartic ester resin solution of modified Hexamethylene Diisocyanate and Amine Functional Polyisocyanate. Solids reduction is not recommended.

4. APPLICABLE STANDARDS:

SPARTIC-ALL™ RM complies with all applicable air quality management regulations including those restricting VOC content to less than 350 g/L.

5. PACKAGING:

SPARTIC-ALL™ RM is available from stock in 1.5 gallon, 3 gallon and 15 gallon kits. 150 gallon units are available upon request.

6. COVERAGE:

2 Typical application rates vary from 175 to 250 ft per gallon. Coverage will also vary depending on method of application and the porosity of the surface. Although one coat is typical, user must determine application needs. Multiple coats are not uncommon.

7. SHELF LIFE:

When stored in temperature controlled areas, shelf life is one year for unopened containers. It is recommended to rotate stock as formula improvements may be made when technology becomes available.

8. CAUTIONS:

Although SPARTIC-ALL™ RM has little odor and carriers a very low VOC, it should only be used with adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. DO NOT TAKE INTERNALLY. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Ensure fresh air entry during application. If you experience watering eyes, headaches, or dizziness or if air monitoring demonstrates vapor levels are above applicable limits, wear a properly fitted respirator (NIOSH/MSHA TC 23C approved) during and after application. Follow respirator manufacturer’s directions for use.

9. APPLICATION EQUIPMENT:

Protective gear should be worn when using equipment and materials during preparation and installation.

A squeegee, high quality adhesives roller, mohair adhesive applicator or foam roller is recommended for most applications SPARTIC-ALL™ RM to apply an even coating.

10. APPLICATION:

Cover surrounding areas, walls, equipment, furniture and adjacent surfaces with masking to protect from spills and tracking. The entire work area should be roped off.

Test substrate for cleanliness and adhesion – Before placement of the SPARTIC-ALL™ RM, test the cleaned concrete substrate for soundness and cleanliness with a Tensile Pull Test ACI 503 R (min.200 psi). 100% concrete must fail to pass either test without bond line failure.

Test Concrete for Vapor Emission – 1. It is recommended that a vapor transmission test(s) be completed before accepting any project. 2. To obtain useful data the concrete must be cleaned in the same manner as it is planned for the complete project. 3. Consult with an Elite Crete Systems Trained Technician for advice on testing and solving vapor transmission problems.

Mixing – SPARTIC-ALL™ RM must be properly mixed prior to application. Failure to mix properly may result in uneven sealing and allow vapor emission throughout the finish. Pre-mix Component ”A”, then pour Component “B” and “A” into a clean mixing container and mix for at least 60 seconds (until one even color develops) with a low speed paddle attached to a drill (400-600rpm). The mixed product is ready for immediate placement. DO NOT entrain air into the material while mixing as this will create small bubbles that may not release resulting in a whitening or clouding of the surface.

Laying the Product – Application must be made at the coverage rates recommended in section 6. COVERAGE, using the equipment and methods described. SPARTIC-ALL™ RM should be applied on a dry day when the surface and ambient temperatures are between 32° and 90° F and will not fall below 32° within the next 6 to 8 hours. Do not apply SPARTIC-ALL™ RM on foggy, rainy to extremely humid weather conditions. On hot, dry days, application should be made during the cooler part of the day and when the surface is cool.

1. Pour the mixed SPARTIC-ALL™ RM onto the floor and spread evenly over the surface using the one of the recommended applicators described above.

2. If desired, back roll the wet SPARTIC-ALL™ RM into the surface with the chosen applicator. Work the material onto the surface by pressing down onto the application with mild extra pressure to reduce build up as build up can cause clouding in thicker areas.

3. Leave a wet film of SPARTIC-ALL™ RM on the surface after rolling. 4. Inspect all areas to ensure that the surface has been coated.

5. SPARTIC-ALL™ RM must not be allowed to puddle or collect in joints, resulting in a prolonged cure and/or clouding.

6. SPARTIC-ALL™ RM must be applied evenly while maintaining a wet edge and overlapping must be controlled.

Curing – 1. Allow the SPARTIC-ALL™ RM to gel and cure until tack free. 2. Carefully inspect the entire area to ensure that the SPARTIC-ALL™ 90% film is solid without film break or concrete surface protrusions. 3. If film break or protrusion(s) occur reapply SPARTIC-ALL™ RM.

11. CAUTION:

Component “B”- Irritant Contains polyaspartic ester resins. Prolonged contact with skin may cause irritation. Avoid contact with eyes.

Component “A” – Corrosive Contains Hexamethylene Diisocyanate and Amine Functional Polyisocyanate. Contact with skin may cause severe burns. Avoid eye contact. Product is a strong sensitizer.

Important Information – Use of safety goggles, chemical-resistant gloves, adequate ventilation and NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator is recommended.

12. CLEAN UP:

In case of spills wear suitable protective equipment, contain spill, and collect with absorbent material, place in suitable container. Ventilate

. Avoid contact. Dispose according to applicable local, state, and

federal regulations.

13. FIRST AID:

In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water. For eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. For respiratory problems, remove person to fresh air. Contact Physician Immediately. Wash clothing before re-use.

14. PRODUCT AVAILABILITY:

SPARTIC-ALL™ RM is marketed nationwide and internationally, directly to trained installers through strategically located authorized distributor and suppliers.

15. PRODUCT COST:

Application rate of 175 to 250 sq. ft. per gallon and material cost per coat is approximately $0.41 to $0.59 per ft2 depending on surface texture and package size.
